We work with organisations to develop a performance culture. Crucially this is about creating a deep understanding of motivation within the management community so that as leaders they inspire individuals and teams to perform. This approach is designed to create an organisational culture that embraces high performance; having the right attitude and beliefs about performance is essential. This culture ensures that the formal performance management systems, processes and procedures will be successfully adopted within an organisation.
We provide:
- Consultancy to define and develop a suitable performance management philosophy and approach including, identifying and documenting the organisation’s culture. This is tested with focus groups/workshops and refined with the sponsors. Once agreed this is used to guide the design and development of the processes and procedures. Effectively managing the introduction of a performance management approach or changes to an existing approach is vital. We achieve this through workshops with managers and employees as well as a planned communication programme. Consideration of other stakeholders is also important and we have experience of working with Unions to successfully introduce performance management system within a unionised environment.
- Interventions for Managers to develop belief and commitment to performance management as an important and effective approach. Irrespective of the formal performance management process it is effective leadership that inspires people to give their best. Leaders throughout an organisation need to understand the significance of their role in developing a performance culture. The workshops we deliver focus on building buy in and commitment to the management of performance. Once this has been achieved we then turn our attention to training managers how to use the formal systems, processes and procedures.
- Interventions for Employees to build engagement and commitment to performance management as a concept and process. Performance Management can be an emotive proposition and the introduction of a performance management as an approach needs to be managed sensitively. Workshops with employees provide the most effective means of engaging people in the process.
